About TG Model School & Junior College – Dandepally
Telangana Model Schools were established to provide quality education in educationally backward areas and to create strong educational opportunities for children, particularly in rural communities.
The Model School programme was designed to provide quality English-medium education under the State syllabus from Class VI through Intermediate, while giving importance to curricular and co-curricular development.
The official Model School objectives emphasise holistic education, communication skills, student-centred learning, moral and ethical values, scientific and rational thinking, leadership and the development of each child's potential.
Why Model Schools Were Established
The Model School initiative originated as a Government of India programme for Educationally Backward Blocks (EBBs), with the objective of providing free quality education and creating schools that could play a pace-setting role in their areas.
In Telangana, Model Schools were developed as institutions intended to bring quality educational opportunities closer to students in rural and educationally backward areas.
The programme also seeks to develop schools as centres of excellence and to provide an environment in which students can grow academically, socially, physically and morally.
